During the Barber Vintage Festival (October 9-12), DocZ International will be raffling one complete Solo Dyna System starter, complete with two starter motors, come-along claw, on/off ramp, solenoid and cables (less battery), valued at $1000. All proceeds will go directly to AHRMA’s Benevolent Fund; our thanks go out to longtime roadracer, AHRMA supporter and DocZ founder/owner Art Zimmerman. For more information about Solo starters, visit www.doczintl.com
The final venue for the 2014 CPL Systems National Historic Cup Roadrace Series is Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. AHRMA will run a full program on Friday, October 17, which is also the final round of the three-race AHRMA World Championship Series. A second full day of racing — the last of the season — is scheduled for Saturday, October 18. Our SeriesTracker online registration system shows the dates as October 18-19, but all entries received through SeriesTracker will be adjusted accordingly (first day/second day).
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the awards did not arrive at the racetrack for the September 14 round of the Northwest Maico & CZ National Vintage Motocross Series in Fairfield, WA. The organizers of the Rattler’s Run event will be mailing plaques directly to participants who earned them. The best news is that they’ll be awarding the top 50-percent of the finishers in each class, rather than the more-traditional 33-percent. Any questions can be directed to Matt James at email@example.com — please keep in mind it will take several days for trophies to arrive at each destination.
Another race has been added to the VMC Racing Frames National Dirt Track Series, scheduled for November 8 at Oglethorpe Speedway Park in Pooler, GA. See the Event Preview for more details.
The minutes from the July 14 Board of Trustees meeting in Milleville, NJ, are now available here; this document is also permanently posted on the Member Resources page of this website.
Two separate fundraising activities will be taking place in the roadrace paddock during the October 9-12 Barber Vintage Festival in Leeds, AL.
A silent auction will be held for items donated to AHRMA’s roadrace program. Bids can be placed Friday and Saturday in the registration area, with the winners announced at Saturday’s roadrace awards ceremony. The first item up for bid is an autographed, in-the-wrapper Gary Nixon t-shirt; anyone interested in donating other items for auction can contact Cindy Cowell at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Racer John Jewett has donated a Briggs & Stratton P2000 generator that will be raffled during the weekend; proceeds go to the World Championship Series. Tickets will be on sale for $2 each, or six for $10. The drawing will be held at roadrace Tech during Sunday’s lunch break. For more information, click here.
